It's a great place to look if you're planning to sell jewelry online or are already selling. However, be careful of the added fees that can really bump up the price of products.

The product range is impressive to say the least. There's a tremendous range of quality jewelry for you to promote and resell here, with thousands of items to choose from. Categories include bracelets, charms and pendants as well as stones, to mention just a few of the 17 categories. The choice within each category is similarly impressive; for example, within the category 'stones' alone are 60 sub-categories. As well as product categories you can check out categories containing new items, closeouts, this week's additions, sale items and seasonal choices. The toughest thing for a retailer is what to choose! In addition to browsing categories you can use a simple keyword search and even browse a 'virtual catalog' online.

Each product has its own thumbnail image that you can click on for more details. You can find the product price, base wholesale price, image (can be enlarged), short description, related products and product ratings. Tabs allow you to add the item to your shopping cart, email details to a friend, add to wish list, view other items in your cart and look for related items. The latest product guide is also available as a text or CSV file from the website. The Advanced and Pro Memberships also come with XLS data feeds with more detail and real time stock levels.

There are 3 membership types to choose. Standard Membership is free but you will be charged $10.00 for a 6 month license to use their product images when selling on your website or eBay page. Advanced Membership is also free but you pay $25.00 for the image license fee. You also get an XLS data feed with real time price and stock information. If you ship more than 200 packages in a given month you receive a discount of $0.25 for additional deliveries. This isn't offering much as there's a $2.00 fee per package, plus shipping (costing from $2.95). The Pro Membership is similar but will cost you $50.00 for a 6 month image license. In addition to receiving a better data feed (including long description and sub-category classification) you receive a $0.50 discount if you ship more than 300 packages in a month. 

In terms of value, whilst the idea of free membership is enticing, you need to bear in mind the additional commission charge per package and shipping fees, as well as the image license fee. The discounts on offer aren't that attractive and you'd have to be doing some serious selling to qualify. However, the product range is very good, so you may be surprised. Additional help is available on the site explaining membership terms, ordering policy, returns, etc. You can also contact the site by telephone, fax, email and postal mail.

Plumislandsilver.com is a great little site that's easy to navigate, hosting a great range of products and cheap membership terms. As long as you're aware of the added costs when you price this may be a gem of a site.
